Privacy Policy

1. Who are we?
This website is operated by Hans van Leeuwen, e-commerce manager based in Amersfoort, the Netherlands. For questions about this privacy policy, please contact hansvl3@gmail.com.
2. What data do we collect?
When you use the contact form, we store your name, email address, the reason you chose, your message, the page you sent it from and the site language in the site's own database (Supabase, EU), so that we can reply. A notification with these details is sent to Hans via Telegram. We keep a message as long as needed to handle it and any follow-up, and delete it sooner if you ask. We also use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), managed through Google Tag Manager, for, among other things, page views, session duration, device type and how blog articles are read. GA4 receives no names or email addresses, and IP anonymization is enabled by default in GA4. Finally, the site keeps its own visit statistics, described in section 3.
3. The site's own visit statistics
Without cookies and without storing anything on your device, the site records how it is used: which pages are viewed, how long a page is visible and how far you scroll; clicks on links for contact, booking a call, email, LinkedIn and the rates page, on links to other websites and on downloads (where the link points to, without its query string, and up to 80 characters of the link text); on blog articles, how far you read, whether you finish and how long that took, the share option you choose and the table of contents entries you click; the steps of the contact form (the field you start in, which fields are not filled in correctly and whether sending worked), never what you type; page speed; technical error messages; and, when you open a page that does not exist, the address of the page that linked to it (without its query string). Each event also carries the site language, the device type (mobile, tablet or desktop) and whether you are signed in to an account on this site (read from the sign-in the site itself keeps in your browser, so that the owner's own visits can be left out of the figures), and the first page of a visit also the referring website (its domain only) and any campaign tags in the address (utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign). To group the events of one visit, your browser tab creates a random visit code that is held only in the browser's memory (a new tab or a reload starts a new code). That code is sent along with each event and stored with it in the site's own database (Supabase, EU). It is a pseudonymous code: no IP address, name or email address is stored with the statistics, and the code is not linked to contact form submissions or other personal data (the contact form does not send it). Because every event is stored with its time and page, the statistics of a visit in which you sent the contact form could in principle be matched to your message; we do not do that. The statistics are deleted automatically after at most 13 months.
4. Cookies
We use analytical cookies only after your explicit consent (opt-in). Without consent, no tracking cookies are placed. You can withdraw your consent at any time by clearing your browser data.
5. Google Consent Mode v2
This website uses Google Consent Mode v2. This means all storage types (analytics, advertising, personalization) are denied by default for visitors from the EEA, until you actively grant consent.
6. Third-party sharing
We share personal data only with the services this site uses. Supabase hosts the site's database in the EU (contact form messages and the visit statistics). Telegram delivers the notification of a new contact form message (name, email address, reason, page, language and message) to Hans, under its own privacy policy. Google processes Google Analytics data in accordance with their privacy policy. The site's own visit statistics are not shared with anyone else.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify and delete your personal data, and to object to its processing. For a contact form message, email hansvl3@gmail.com and we will show, correct or delete it. The visit statistics are not stored under your name, so we cannot look them up by name. If you sent the contact form and also want to see or delete the statistics of that visit, say so and we will handle them together with your message. You can also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
8. Changes
This privacy policy may be updated. The most recent version is always available on this page.
